Fact Finding into Death of 23 Children due to Poisonous MDM
Twenty-three children at Dharmasati Primary school in Jejauli panchayat under Mashrak police station in Saran district died as they consumed poisonous mid day meal. The incident rocked the nation. The headmistress ignored warning and pleas of the cook and forced the children to eat the poison laced food. Sensing something wrong, two children escaped and the rest 48 ate food. Of these 23 died while on way to hospital and in hospital. The rest were saved after intensive treatment.
